Health and Wellness Center

HAWC SERVICES

The Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) is more than just AF PT Programs and health-related classes. We also provide many services that may help you in many ways. Call the HAWC (734-5505/06) for additional information pertaining to any of our services!

MicroFit Assessments - A total fitness assessment used to develop an exercise program. The assessment measures your body fat, flexibility, strength, cardiovascular fitness, blood pressure, etc...then sets up a workout program according to your health, abilities, and what you're trying to achieve. By appointment only!

Relaxation/Massage Chair - A wonderful way to relax! The Wellness Center has two of these to massage away your built up stress. It's also used to ease your anxiety before your cycle ergometry test. Take a few moments to try it out...we are certain that you will be back!

Operation "Be Fit" Interval Training - This program is a unique workout combining strength training and cardiovascular workouts. We can train unit personnel as team leaders to implement into the squadron physical training programs or we can do individual programs.

Resource Library - We have numerous books and videos on healthy living including: heart health, managing blood pressure and cholesterol, tobacco cessation, stress management, nutrition, fitness, healthy cooking, women's health, men's health, drugs and alcohol, and so much more! Stop by the HAWC to check these out to read or watch in the privacy of your own home!

Wellness Materials - Not only do we provide the books and videos listed above, but we also offer many wellness materials such as booklets, brochures, pocket cards, charts, mini-models, etc . . . on many, many health-related subjects. An easy and convenient way to browse health topics that interests you and your family!

Fitness Deployment Bags - These bags are available to active duty members to check out for TDY purposes. Each bag contains a heart rate monitor, resistance bands, jump rope and incentive items.

Pedometer/Resistance Band Checkout - These items are available for checkout to all military beneficiaries. Use a pedometer to see if you are taking 10,000 steps a day to be considered an active person. Resistance bands offer a unique way to tone muscles and increase strength. Programs and training are available with both items.
