Welcome to the Tinker Air Force Base Family Child Care (FCC) Program

2007 USAF Services Family Child Care Program of the Year

Upcoming Events

"Getting to Know FCC"

Open Houses are planned for 17 Oct & 14 Nov 2007 for those interested in becoming a licensed (on-base) /affiliated (off-base) Family Child Care Provider.  Pre-registration is not required.  For more information please contact the Family Child Care office at 734-7190.

This program offers an alternative for child care to families who want their child or children in a less structured and home-like environment. Providers are able to accommodate the various work schedules of parents by offering not only full time child care, but also part time care, drop in services, weekend and evening/night time care as well as shift work and special needs care. These homes are licensed by the 72d Mission Support Group Commander in coordination with the base health, fire and safety agencies and are monitored by the FCC Coordinator.

The Family Child Care Program also sponsors an off base affiliate program. These providers are approved by both the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the FCC Office. The affiliates must follow the same regulations as the on base providers, and will receive the same benefits.

The Family Child Care Program is governed by the Air Force Inspection Checklist 34 - 276 and local operation instructions. Operating a Family Child Care Home on base is a privilege, which at the discretion of the 72d Mission Support Group Commander, can be denied or terminated. In order to be licensed or affiliated, providers receive training in child development, nutrition and positive guidance techniques. Other training includes prevention, identification and reporting of child abuse, CPR, First Aid, Food Handlers, Health and Safety as well as continued ongoing training. The primary goal is to provide quality care in a safe and stimulating environment. You are cordially invited to visit the Family Child Care Office between 1:30 pm - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
