AUTO SHOP - BLDG 6002
The Auto Shop primarily focuses on the person who likes to work on their own vehicle, performing routine oil changes to overhauls. A fully stocked tool crib is available for usage. Stall fees are $2.50 an hour and are available on a first come first serve basis. However, if you do not want to do your own routine maintenance, we will do it for you. Let us schedule your next front-end alignment, brake job, oil change, antifreeze check, engine oil flushes, tire rotations and balancing. Appointments may be made by calling the shop.
The Auto Shop has 10 bays with 3 lifts available for oil changes. ($2.00 per 1/2 hr)
Available equipment includes receptacle for oil when changed within the shop. Bead blaster is available to use to clean off old parts and is a great source to clean kitchen stove burners for clearing of quarters.
Mitchell On Demand is available on computer to troubleshoot your specific problems to your vehicles and offers available diagrams that can be printed out to assist you with your repairs.
Engine diagnostics is now available for $40. Call for an appointment.
Radiator System Service is available for $60 not including antifreeze. This service includes a fast flush, cool off and multi treatment to extend the life of the coolant pump. It will increase the effectiveness of the coolant and should be accomplished once a year.
Transmission System Service is available for $70 and does not include oil.
The ATF Exchanger is an effective way to replace worn transmission fluid in a vehicle without the mess. This service includes a cleaner and fluid extender and should be accomplished every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.
Fuel System Service is available for the fuel injector flush is a great way to clean the deposits from the injectors without disassembly. The service includes a throttle body cleaner, fuel system flush and a vac-u-flush and should be accomplished every 15,000 to 30,000 mile or once a year. Cost is $60.
Engine Oil Flush Service is available for $60. The EnviroLution Engine Flush System pumps heated detergent solution that flows through the engine, dissolving and power-flushing the sludge and other contaminates down to the oil pan. Here the dissolved sludge and contaminates are vacuum extracted out of the engine.
Auto Mart
The base Auto Mart, better known as the lemon lot, has moving to the Services Mall building 478 (old BX), east parking lot. The Auto Mart resale area is within the parking blocks. Registration is still located at the Auto Hobby building 6002 and must be done prior to parking in the lot. Violators will be ticketed & towed. Tinker personnel wanting to park their vehicle at the Auto Mart to sell must first visit the Auto Shop. The following information is needed to place a vehicle at the auto mart; license plate number, title or registration, Identification Card and a credit card number. Cost is $5 for seven days.
Can’t find your keys to your vehicle? Lock them inside the car? Call the Auto Shop at 734-5616 for lock-out service. Cost is $25. On base service only.
